Bug reports & end-user support for Akai's MPC Software 'controllers' including the new MPC Studio 2, the MPC Touch, MPC Renaissance & original MPC Studio and MPC StudioB lack.

This topic reads like detective literature :-D
all I wanna say is, I record midi and sample audio coming from my external synth novation k-station....in stand alone mode.....so it certainly is possible...in,sum vids on my YouTube channel u even see me doing that....maybe try another midi out?? Maybe hardware malfunction??? There are no audio tracks, besides that what u want to do is possible....the way to do this is far from ideal, but it is possible

no I said it more than once  ! you answered to my post also. that's the reason I replied here cuz he's trying the same thing I am just with a diff keyboard. sounds like this guy has his equip set up properly and is doing everything right, its NOT USER ERROR! again to re-iterate what he and I are trying to do is not poss in standalone mode!!!! yes it's possible to SAMPLE! according to Akai, you have to open the software in a DAW as a plug-in, so you can rec the MIDI and the audio in a separate aux or instr track. sucks but apparently it's a feature that is oft requested......

No, he can't get MIDI from the MPC sequencer to play sounds in his Fantom.

That is possible.

It is also possible to sample it, as MPCHolland053 says he can do.

yes I know it's possible to sample and if you look I say that. but sampling isn't the same as recording as far as step recording goes. the software isn't a full fledged DAW. if he was using say PT, he could create an instr track. in a pass the MIDI events would get rec'd, but he would hear nothin cuz MIDI is a marker not audio. he would then have to create an aux track for the audio to be rec'd and heard. tough pill to swallow but it is what it is. building from samples isn't as fast and convenient as step rec passes and is limiting in many ways

Yes, the standalone software doesn't allow audio to be recorded in sync with an MPC sequence, automatically.

It needs direct the recording/place event, or audio tracks, features to be added to MPC Software to allow that.

These features have been requested from Akai many times already.

But that is not what the OP in this thread is having problems with, he can't get MIDI from the MPC Sequencer to trigger sounds in his Fantom at all.

yeah and the reason why is cuz IT CAN"T!! if you pay attn, just like me he's not saying the MIDI events aren't recording just not triggering the sounds which it won't do! it's something that he needs a DAW to do as I've outlined PEROID! with the 2500, rec in this manner isn't a prob cuz that's what those line of MPCs were made for, not so with the Ren. again IT"S NOT SOMETHING YOU CAN DO IN STANDALONE CURRENTLY!!

You can trigger external MIDI devices from MPC Software in standalone mode.

You can also record the audio output of those devices into MPC Software in standalone mode.

It just doesn't automatically place those recorded samples into the correct place within the MPC sequence so that they are in sync with the sequence.

I can not believe that current mpc can not do this
any sampler can
if I necessarily need a daw to record a sequence mid software mpc seems a joke
could also suggest that in future versions of the software mpc
we can write something on the direct imput mpc a sequence
in my case I am with all the correct settings here
when I play the fantom
he writes in sequence mpc
but no sound
until an old mv can do this

There is something wrong in your setup, or settings, that is preventing it from working Felix.

It does work, for other people, with their external MIDI gear.

It is very hard to troubleshoot problems like this over the internet, when it is not something obvious.

It also seems that English might not be your native language, which makes the communication more difficult.

Simom is true
My English is very bad sorry
and despite not having even the instructions in my language
everywhere seek information in order to work with the mpc
the only case that I have had this problem is
but I am more relaxed knowing that it is possible to do what I'm trying
an hour I'll figure out how to do it
I am very grateful for your help and patience
