Headphone driver replacement?

Would the generally accepted advice be to replace both drivers if one stops working?

These must have taken a knock coming back from my girlfriend's house at the weekend. I'm just not sure I want to splurge £80+ to get them working again.

well it all depends on what kind of headphones you are using, and what they new price is

If they have had a fair amount of use, you will probably find that a new driver on one side will sound different to a used driver on the other side.

Sennheiser HD650s which are around £260 new. It's not so much that they aren't worth patching up, but more a case of now might be time to upgrade and sell these on. There's a few pairs that I'm interested in but they're not cheap!

That's what I'm thinking. 4 or 5 years worth of use would definitely show differences.

yeah i'd agree with that. I'm using the HD600's. I wouldnt know what to do in your situation..
