Question about pad upgrade

So I got my MPC Stuff pad upgrade in, and installed everything with thick pads. Now when i hit the pads, they all work in order, and fine, BUT, even if I hit them pretty damn hard, they don't reach 127? Are they suppose to? I double and triple checked install. I even checked all the settings (MODE+10 + F4).

They all register, but don't hit 127 unless on full velocity? Are they suppose to work like this? Also, Im running JJOS 4.99.

Does the JJ allow you to adjust the individual velocities of each pad?
The Akai OS certainly does.
Try adjusting that first.

I just replaced the sensor with the full pad upgrade and thick pads. I've been reading people having issues with JJOS versions having issues with the pad upgrades.

I went back to normal pads because I was getting erratic behavior from the fat pads. Did you insert the rubber nipples through the little holes in the sensor?

Yes I did that. I pushed them down as hard as I could without being forceful. Also, I tried regular pads, no luck.

Can you post your actual settings in the pad sensitivity page?

All else fails, get in touch with Mike at MPC Stuff, he might know what the issue is, or perhaps the sensors are faulty. You should be able to get full velocity pretty easily on a fresh set of sensors.

All pads are set to curve A, and level 20.

btw the nipples need to be pushed through from inside the rubber with something like a toothpick, something not too big for the hole + rubber. every time i have attempted it even with the normal pads, at least a few have broken. its almost impossible to get it right without poking the toothpick through the rubber. once that is done, you will have problems if you need to do it again.

the only other thing i can think of is that the sensor isnt plugged in all the way. did you take the reinforcing plastic 'wedge' from the stock sensor and pair it with the end of the ribbon cable in order to force it into the grasp of the connector? i found that to be a challenge. i even needed to trim the end of the ribbon to straighten out the wrinkles i put in when trying to push it into the connector.

Gunna try and take it apart tomorrow to see what your talking about.
