How to record the MPC loop into the DAW

Hi guys , i have a problem.

i made a cool Beat and i want to record it into Pro Tools or Logic.
I have the MPC 1000 via Main stereo out connected to the interface and can record it inside the DAW.

my Technique is.

I hit record - the i press Play and solo the Kick and record it inside the DAW.
Then I solo the Snare and record it.
Then i solo HiHat Then Sample Then Bass etc etc.
When i finished recording i need to cut inside the DAW to time it within the Grid.
I pull the KICK to 1 at the Grid The SNR and everything.

The BIG PROBLEM appears now.

I am losing all the MPC Timing Swing when pulling the audio tracks to the Grid.

ii hope someone understands what i am taking about


how are you recording your MPC beats inside the DAW. It must be solo tracks and without multiple outputs if possible .

Yes. Maybe add some short click on the downbeat or at the beginning of an extra measure so you know where the start is.

I'm guessing that your audio interface just has two inputs?

Recording like that would be a mega buzz kill to me but I'm the "do it all at once or not at all" type... which is a double-edged sword some times. I tip my hat to ye, sir, for not ripping your hair out. I had a friend who would record his MachineDrum AND MonoMachine the same way... each instrument... track by track through his Apogee Duet. Holy crap...

I think one of the JJOS's has a feature that allows you to mix down to a WAV file so you can drag the whole project out into your DAW... but I'm not sure if it breaks each track down to it's own WAV or the full jam all as a stereo dump.
