mpd26 link with cubase elements 6 trouble

Hello, i would like to link up my mpd26 with cubase elements 6,,, but even though I've searched the last few days extensively, cant seem to get my mpd26 linked up properly with cubase.

I've gone into devices>device setup> then added a generic remote… but then under the input or output IT DOESNT GIVE ME a "mpd26 option". it only gives me "usb audio device" option. I've tried the "usb audio device" option in and out, or only in,,, and even after importing the cubase xml file, the mpd26 doesn't work properly. :

the pads, knobs, faders, and transport section get a signal in cubase, while the note repeat, tap tempo, time division buttons do not. the transport section gets light going in cubase, but doesn't work to actually PLAY, STOP, <<, >>, REC.

can anyone help me with this?.. 1…

and 2: like i said, i can get the pads, faders and knobs to work, even play sounds…
but heres the problem: i'm trying to use groove agent one, and only sometimes/ some kits line up,,, say pad 1 on mpd26, with pad 1 onscreen in groove agent one. they don't always line up, this can't be normal,,,

I'm thinking that if in the generic remote section, it gave me the option to select "mpd26" instead of just "usb audio device" , both the mpc26 and cubase would work better together. but its just not working properly.

Note Repeat/Time Division can work with either External or Internal MPD MIDI clock.

If the MPD MIDI Clock is set to External, then you have to set Cubase so that it sends MIDI clock from Cubase to the MPD, so that the MPD can repeat notes to the same tempo as the Cubase song.

If the MPD MIDI Clock is set to Internal, then it will repeat notes to the internal tempo of the MPD, and you would have to sync the tempo of Cubase to the internal tempo of the MPD, using MIDI clock, so that the MPD note repeats at the same tempo as the Cubase song.

To use the Note Repeat button, you hold it down while pressing the MPD pads, and it sends MIDI note messages from the MPD pads that repeat according to the MPD Time Division settings.

You hold the Time Division button and press the appropriate MPD pad to set the Note Repeat Time Division and Swing to whatever Time Division/Swing setting you want to use, as labelled in the boxes above each pad.


Tap Tempo only works to set the internal tempo of the MPD, so the MPD MIDI Clock would have to be set to Internal, and you would have to sync the tempo of Cubase to the internal tempo of the MPD, using MIDI clock sent from the MPD into Cubase.


The MPD transport controls can be set to send out various different types of MIDI commands when pressed. You need to set Cubase to respond those incoming MIDI commands from the MPD transport controls. This might be, for example, MMC (MIDI Machine Control) commands from the MPD to Cubase, if the MPD is set to send MMC commands, and if Cubase is set to receive MMC commands from the MPD.

You might have to setup the MPD, or Groove Agent One, so that each MPD pad sends a MIDI note number that matches the MIDI note numbers of the pads as set in Groove Agent One.
