I love the MPC2500. For me the most refined no-added-nonsense MPC . With JJOS there's next to no difference if pad size, tilting screen, outputs, etc. isn't important to you. But, unless you know it's had the pad issue sorted, I'd avoid the old blue 1000 unless it's a giveaway price.

I have one of those ole blues and she is most definitely a faithful one. Just getting to a point where the hardware is really the tipping point, namely the outputs. I got my 1K for pennies so I jumped on it and never looked back. Here looking forward!

But yeah, that old pad design was pretty shoddy. It still works so I'm not stressing that currently.

I've spotted one at my local pawn shop for $800. I don't know if it includes the memory card, or has a hard drive installed, but I checked the back, and all outputs are included. I didn't have time to try it, so I have no clue if it has some broken pads, or what operating system it has installed. I'm seriously considering getting this, but it would take me 2, maybe 3 months to pick up. But, I have always wanted a mpc, and I could custom it as far as the bigger screen, new pads, or a custom paint job, etc...(It does look just a bit scuffed up, so why not make it look semi-new??)

I'll have to see how things pan out, and if somebody else were to grab it, then that would be a shame, but sometimes that's how things go.
