Tried to update the firmware on my mpc studio. Followed instructions to the letter, update would not work, saying "Could not send chunk #2 of 2. Retrying" closed updater, then switched off unit. Now it will not work at all, blank blue screen and the first four pads are lit up Red, green, green yellow, like its stuck on the update still. Have retried the update many times with no luck. Contacted Akai, yet to hear back from them... Anyone ever heard of this problem? cannot find anything online about it. Was wondering if its possible to do a factory reset but cant find anything like that either... :hmmm:

Quite a few users had this problem, should be able to find it discussed on the forum.

Not sure what the fix was, beyond trying again, and following the instructions.

Might have been a particular order of connecting and/or powering up the MPC.

If you are on a Mac, do you have access to a PC to try the firmware update from?
