mpc 1000 jjos 4.99 + microkorg question.

So i finally got my microkorg to record midi and audio into the mpc, i was wondering if theres any way to save the sound i made with the microkorg into the mpc so i dont have to keep the microkorg on while i play the beat and so i dont have to keep loading the same patch on the microkorg. Thanks.

sample it? whodathunkit?

I know i can do that. Just wondering if theres an easier way

you mean actually take the sound out of your korg and put it in the mpc? in other words take the keyboard apart and put the guts in the mpc?

i just wanna get an idea of how you think it would work if you arent talking about sampling it. and you wanna turn your keyboard off???

If you have the keyboard connected to the mpc (via midi cables) and you record a piano sound for example and then change the sound of the keyboard to a bass with the intention of playing and recording the bass on track 2 of the MPC it will simply change the original sound of your piano track to that of the bass. This is because the midi notes (midi data) are recorded into the MPC rather than actual sound. So no matter what sound you select on the keyboard the same notes will be played back .
However the microkorg is multitimbral which means you have to create a programme in the keyboard containing all the sounds you want which should remedy the problem. I looked into it a while back as i have a Akai miniak and had the same query. ( never did get round to figuring out the programme mode on miniak)

I really tend to sample the keyboard into the mpc and assign it to a pad.

Im sure the more experienced peeps in the forums will be able to advise you further as im really just finding my way in the wonderful world of MPC :.)

microKORG's monotimbral, so you can only play one sound at a time.
