OWNED!!!!!

Is that some sort of retarded clap you are doing?

1.5 was released approx October 2nd.

1.6 was released approx January 13th.

Only thing you owned is your buddies on the short bus.

This is the thread here in the forums when 1.5 was released...

This is the thread here in the forums when 1.6 was released...
viewtopic.php?f=36&t=170656

Have a look at the dates in those threads, have a look at the dates of when it was actually available in a Google search (not the date in the release notes).

1.6 has only been released for 3 months.

Akai has been slow for years to fix issues, but some of these same issues made hits we listen today. I believe with the Ren being a controller and the fact it was missing a lot of standalone functions started what we are seeing in the forum now. I am a happier Ren user then I was, but that was after investing in software and a upgraded computer. Akai is at least trying and I hope 1.7 delivers for taken so long (1.6 release notes say Nov but came out in Jan). I think most of the conflict is from Ren software only users that need the functions they were use to with the standalone MPC and Ren users with DAW software. That find their DAW software is more user friendly then the Ren software. I believe Akai is seeing they have to fronts to work at the same time and they are finding its difficult to please both user types.

User hoping 1.7 offers some updates for both user types :smoker:  8)

The date in the release notes is not when it was released.

No, I don't own a Renaissance. I own an MPC Studio.

I don't know WTF you are going on about, and you don't either.

The software could not have told you that the last update was available in November, because it wasn't, it was not available until January 13th.

It has been 3 months since the last update.

Are you **** retarded, seriously?

kb420ps wrote:If anyone is really wondering what's taking Akai so long to release a 1.7 update for the Ren, all you have to do is look at the money. Follow the money trail. It's just that simple. While users have been waiting for 1.7, this is what AkaiPro has been REALLY working on. This is their focus right now:

Just take an honest look at what they've been working on, and consider the fact that those products, once they're released, won't really require any type of future software updates. They're going to continue to promote those products, sell them, and run with the money. They won't have to continually pay anyone to fix any software with those items. We live in a corporate world, and that's the way the Akai corporate mindset works.

Yep, it is a corporate world, where money has to be coming in to pay for ongoing development.

How much time of the MPC development team has been taken up by those products?

All they had to do was include support for the new MPK controllers into MPC Essentials, which would not be much different to the support already in there for MPC Element.

Selling gear that runs with MPC Essentials, such as MPC Elements and the new MPK controllers, creates revenue for Akai that is related to MPC Software, and which allows MPC Software development to continue.

kb420ps wrote:Once they're on to the next thing, it's game over. Just ask any MPC 5000 user. Just think about it. All of those products have been announced since 1.6 was released.......

Do you seriously expect them not to sell anything else, not to have any income, other than MPC Studio and MPC Renaissance, that those products is where new product development stops, and ongoing sales of those two products is going to keep MPC Software development going?

It looks like they are working on a new standalone MPC, which also incorporates MPC Software, so they are not necessarily going to drop MPC Software support for the current MPC controllers when that is released, it will also allow development of MPC Software to continue.

Do you really think they are not going to be working on the next MPC?

Cheerleading some **** idiot who thinks you guys owned me, when you are both wrong, questioning whether I own the product, saying that if I owned it I would know it was released in November, when it wasn't...WTF! :Sigh:

I hope you are lmao at yourself, at the amount of lmao you were doing at me, when you are the one that is wrong!

you yourself have admitted that you havent turned the ren on in 3-4 months, and 1.6 was released 3 months ago so how much can you really speak on what 1.6 is or isn't? on one hand you say you are just a critical consumer so you aren't going to give akai an easy ride (reasonable) but the way you act is just like the other trolls on this forum repeating the same 'akai are terrible and are going to **** up everything' mantra, bs'ing about how it's an inferior product. maybe the ren isn't right for you but then if you bought a maschine you would probably be bitching just as much on ni forums.

and this attitude is seriously childish. keep your word! 3-6 months! like the world doesn't always go smoothly dude, coding is complicated and bugs that are impossible to predict can appear at every corner especially when implementing new features. aside from that, the people coding the shit are humans who can only work so hard, for so many hours a day, and even then there are unforseen things that happen in those peoples lives that can slow development (children, deaths in family, etc.)

THAT BEING SAID

theres still 3 months to get 1.7 out and they would still be "keeping their word" on 3-6 month release cycles. But let's be honest - if 1.7 comes out in july you're going to be mad, you're mad already and it's only april. i can basically guarantee there will be another WHERES 1.7 thread before the end of the week

Yep, it seemed that Pete wanted to get 1.6 out on Christmas Eve, but they found some sort of bug that meant they had to remove a feature completely, at the last minute, and then go through the beta testing process again, so it wasn't available until January 13th. He seemed genuinely upset that he couldn't get it out when he expected, and as he had indicated he would.

1.6 had the List Editor, something many users have requested, but apparently that is not a real update. :hmmm:
