dual CF to IDE adapter... up to 128GB SSD alternative $120

however it wont fit perfectly. you wont be able to screw the drive into the caddy. youll even need to unscrew the plug circuit board from the caddy and attach it to the adapter and then screw it back on. dont worry, its not hard to do. anybody with a phobia towards screw drivers need not worry.

Dude, you should totally use the microSD to SD adapter and set the record for most adapters used for an application ... I'm calling Guiness! lol this is a good MPC hack though kudos

A 128Gb MicroSD is not < $80 ...
Where can you find a 128GB MicroSD card for < 80$
(there are fake noname MicroSD cards on ebay, I know it, I already have tried them )

do you see the links in the first post?

you will notice, please, the micro SD cards i link to are 64GB and the IDE to CF adaper accepts 2 CF to SD adapters which in turn accept 2 SD to micro SD adapters. so 2 x 64GB = 128GB.

By the way (I know it's not the primary purpose of this post), do you think this adapter :

would work in the traditional front CF reader of the MPC ?

(i.e. without using the hard disk bay)

ok assuming i bought fake micro sd cards, the price of this mod goes up to $120 or so.

When using such items, will the MPC see 2 different drives ?
Or are both µSD merged into a single drive ?

as far as i know the MPC sees 1 drive. have only tried 1 microsd card so far in the ide adapter.
