Why is that. Are they going out of business? :(

Nope, First off, a bit ago, Numark started being Akai Pro America the North American
Distributor for Akai,
and then more recently

Numark purchased all of Akai Professional Japan. So besides changes in the entire distribution
channel, their was also a major change at Akai Pro itself.

So not going out of business, but more STARTING business :)

Not sure if it's good or bad, as I"m sure time will tell. But I'm hoping that it means
more money for development and more features put into the OS :)

Also, I know the UK distributor and some other European ones changed hands as well,
so it wouldn't just be in US that you might have troubles getting one. Talk to Rob
about how long he had to wait for his shiny blue one :)

Cheers,

Dave

They might just start selling the 4000 with all the options installed. It would help to save room in warehousing for distributors and retailer's.

The option cards (IB-48P, Ib-4ADT) are available to purchase seperatly but, at most stores they are a special order. Try calling VST service center for an adat board, they may have one in stock.

Yeah I've been after the 8 analogue outs board for literally months in the UK - the poor guy at Numark just doesn't know what's going on and has no idea when there will be any in the country. I had to scrat around tracking down a 4000 second hand because there haven't been any new ones available for months, and still none here yet.

Shame really, such a major organisation going to total cra p overnight.

Thanks for the response - I just had a look at Dawson's and there isn't a single akai product on their website, perhaps they've had enough of the lack of supply and bulleted the muppets?

Do check anyway cause when I had the cash and checked their lists there were no IB48P so I emailed them and got the answer that they had them in stock (dunno where in their lists...it's almost impossible finding anything in there).
It only "cost" you an email. ;)
