pretty shocked considering his amount of sales/feedback

guess ima stick with floppies

Dude, look at the title and sub-title of the ebay listing. It says,

"Akai MPC2000xl 18GB SCSI Hard drive External MPC4000 DPS12 DPS16 Z8 storage Disk

1 Year sellers warranty! Includes cables and FREE SHIP"

It says 1 Year sellers warranty! You just dropped 119 dollars on this drive. Get in touch with this guy and tell him the drive does NOT work and you have a 1 year sellers warranty. The 14 days return was for a refund. But if the drive is defective, return and tell him to get you a working hard drive that is recognized by the MPC2000XL. I can tell you that the drive should at least be recognized by either 1.14 and 1.20. I have one with my MPC2000XL and have tried both versions. They work. You should not see jibberish on the screen. You should escalate to ebay based on false advertising. I guess anyone can say 1 years warranty and not honor it. A worthless warranty. If things do not turn out for you, you can always leave negative feedback ($119 worth of - feedback). Do not let him off the hook that easily. I am sorry but that is just too much money to throw away and let others know to beware this seller. Total bs.

Dont worry if he was gonna ignore helping me i'd of ruined his feedback and warned, but im still hopeful.

Yea its alot of money but in all honesty my XL I bought along with this was broken too when I bought it and had to get it fixed (by the person who sold it to me - no charge) and I really cba with the further hassle.

Just wish ida bought $119 worth of floppies now :-D

i would imagine if the seller mentioned a 1 year warranty (certainly not a manufacturers warranty because there are really no new parts but really from seller to buyer) then this applies to the drive malfunctioning at any point during the 1 year then the assumption is that seller would have to give you a working drive. so assuming you get your XL sampler completely running properly and you get an issue with the drive, then the seller is on the hook for giving a working drive. correct?

i say you contact seller and get him to tell you exactly what the 1 year warranty is about (something that should have been asked before buying). remember the devil is in the details. i am usually leery about a 1 year warranty on anything sold on ebay. these type of sellers are usually not around long enough to honor anything. oh well.

it is totally up to you to do what feels right to you.

I am the seller of this Drive. He finally did contact me after a week. At the time, I provided him with a solution and never heard back from him. Usually on Ebay this means, problem solved...
Anyone who gets alot of mail on Ebays mail system knows that not every message gets through. I get over 20 messages everyday on ebays mail system alone. We did get back in contact and I did send him a replacement drive. We are currently waiting on shipping for it to arrive so he can swap it out and test it.
I find it funny that people have no reservations posting problems they have with sellers, But when that same seller provides a solution, the same people can not go back and revise that the problem was fixed or admit that they were wrong about a seller. But I am glad that OLDSKL did infact keep you guys updated...
I truly do enjoy helping other musicians get their storage woes solved. My feedback proves this. If I was just in the business of being a scammer, I would not still have an Ebay account due to claims. And I certainly would not have thousands of drive sales under my belt...

I got burned by one of these sd readers. Lost money. Stay away from pro_oem_stereo. Sure he's got 100% feedback but most of his feedback is as a buyer not seller. I was easily fooled. Consider cf cards instead of sd cards. Ther are plenty of cf cards out there.

This buyer was NOT burned. this guy is just a straight liar. He got burned because he lied.

"Sure he's got 100% feedback but most of his feedback is as a buyer not seller. "

Check my feedback This statement is simply NOT true.

This buyer found these hot-swap drives after he bought this drive from me and wanted to return it. He said "I dont think anything is wrong with it, i just decided to take a different route.. thanks though, "(direct quote) This was a clear case of buyers remorse. His drive works fine. In fact, The pictures of the Drive being recognized on the MPC2000xl in the Ebay listing is his drive(the first one I built).
He claimed after that (less than one hour later) it did not work and he has found others with the same drive that said the same( I have only sold one of these) among many other false claims. He then tried to open a case in Paypal saying he never received the package. Paypal or Ebay would not back him because of the lies.
My advice is that: If you are going to take some ones advice make sure that that person is not a complete liar.
Check my feedback, I have sold thousands of drives and helped many musicians(even a few national acts). This buyer has a feedback rating of 4.... Yes 4...
If anyone has any questions with any of my drives, Please contact me on Ebay. Thanks, Joe

Ima be honest, when i wrote that message its cause i didnt want to go through all the trouble of writing out what was wrong with the card reader so i just told you i wanted to return it. My mistake i shouldve told you from the start what was wrong with it but at that point i just didnt want to deal with it anymore. i would appreciate it if you could stop calling me a liar now. also im new to ebay so when i tried to open a case i didnt really know what i was doing. Please i dont need this drama in my life, all i want is my money back so i could send you your product back and then we could move on with our lifes, i dont know why you're giving me a hard time. my family doesnt have a lot of money so those $250 is worth a lot to me so can you please just forget that all this ever happened and give my money back. i would be happy to send back your product.
