when sampling at 45rpm and then slowing down to 33rpm speed, the playback would then be at a sampling frequency of roughly 32khz. That's similar to the SP1200 which I believe was 29khz? Or something close to that.

My only real tip for the time being would be to create one big bank of sounds for all your work. Fill each program with 64 samples.. Chopped beats, bass notes, whatever. Then create your songs within sequences by copying tracks etc. It save the trouble of loading and saving all the time for individual songs. Instead, each sequence becomes an individual song so they can easily be sorted through. I hope this makes sense?

U can sample a LP record with 33 3/3 on 45 rpm. then U lower the pitch on the sample until the sample gains it normal speed again.

otherwise if U can always find A plug in or program for the computer that emulates the sp1200 sound.

3rd option is to import the sample into your sound editor like (recycle, cooledit, soundforge) etc
and resample it into 22050 hz (12bit like the sp1200 sample engine.) Export it to your protools and save the sound down as: 16bit. (I'm not shore if this is the easiest way)

good luck!

cant u resample each drum hit with that bitcrusher effect on the 500 and then on top of that when u resample it with the effect also drop the resolution to 12bit 22050hz?

i really like the stretching a sample by copying it to the next pad, reversing it and playing it after the original sample at a lower volume tip!! lol!! good one!!

This is a fun trick! To quickly spread parts of a long sample across the 12 pads, set velocity/start to 100 in the program settings. Next, press the 12 levels button and set it to velocity so each pad triggers a different velocity. Now each pad will take you to a different place in the sample!
