Whats up..

a lot of my production is sample based and ive been having trouble achieving the things that i want to achieve with Maschine in terms of building more complex arrangements in my songs and sampling more of the things that im hearing in the sample( i dont like duplicating my sample to a new group to finish chopping it, i like working in the editor and chopping to the Bin and then dragging from the bin to the EXS24). This problem has led me to switch to Logic Pro because the ESX24 gives me more of a view to sample with( I have a sample which i chopped 94 times, what im trying to do is use the parts i chopped as instruments and replay them to basically remake the beat but how i want it).

Im thinking about buying a midi keyboard, because itll be easier to play back things on there rather than just working on my mac keys or i may go get a ASR10 and use that because from what i understand it colors the samples better and makes them feel warmer.

maybe i just dont know how to achieve the things i want with what i have, but im thinking i could use the ASR to EQ/synthesis my samples and then sequence and arrange in logic? so id chop in logic/ Map it to my ASR/ Eq/ play with my chops/ then replay it in logic.. Could this work? Thanks.

Not quite sure what u actually mean by "map them to the asr" but from first glance at ure post id say dropping money on an asr is not the way to go, research more about the asr b4 u buy it. If u plan on doing most of the work on ure cpu getting an asr for the "colour" is not the way to go. And I don't fully understand exactly what u want but I have a feeling u won't be able to "directly" do what u want.

Any type of " playing with" , eq ing or synthesizing u want to do with the asr requires u to sample into the asr ( well I guess that's not entirely true but more or less) and the asr has no graphic waveform display to edit with. If all u want is the fx and sound of the unit try looking for an ensoniq dp 4 unit, the efx on the asr come from that unit.

If you get an ASR10 at this stage, allow yourself 5 years to learn how to use it.
