Vintage Mode

What happen to all the vintage mode settings that were going to be implemented in the new updates? Only one so far is sp1200. This is not in my top 5 wishlist but would be a nice treat to have a few emulations added in the next update.

Mode=software based emulation...also saw mpc studio's with that ren-exclusive hardware based "mode" and does It apply on All tracks?within a sequence?

The only 'emulation' added was the SP ring, which was soon discovered to be nothing more than the Decimator plugin with some preset values.

As discussed in the above article, as vintage 'mode' is actually just a bunch of vst plugins, there's no reason for it to be limited to being applied only to the main outs and with the hack it can be applied anywhere, just like any other VST. And of course, with the MPC Studio.

At the time, Dan suggested:

That was nearly a year ago, but we all know what 'soon' means :)

Yes, I learned about the hack and use it on individual tracks as well. I still would like to see more choices. Enough with vintage mode. Bring on 1.7!

What really frustrates me is that vintage mode doesn't export... i mean... wtf??? :WTF: why do i have a sound effect that i really like by the way but i can only listen to it on my mpc, not on music i produce... :Sigh: that is just weak.

edit: alright, it gets exported when i bounce as stereo file. well, usually i want to mix a beat so of course i bounce as seperate tracks... which again doesn't incorporate vintage mode.

i know i can solo each track and bounce as "stereo file" but that makes the 'export as seperate tracks'-feature completely useless to me...



this hole 'vintage mode' thing just isn't thought out well... :|

Might Be but that is t how flagship features should Be incorporated, then Just dont name It so explicitly

As I remember it was clearly stated that "vintage mode is restricted to the Ren's output", although I can't find any proof right now.

vintage modes are not the best anyway.. they are just like a plug in on the output, not like the true converters of the original machine.

ive had a ren since day one and have struggled on with it and will give it a chance but have just bought an s5000 sampler and the sound it produces compared to the ren is not even on the same level.. the s5000 is one of my favourite purchases for the way it has made my mixes better.
