Nice things to hear from all of you guys..! My tip: Use Slice sample a lot! Turn the loop on and set the number of regions you want chopped.Then,you can set the chopped samples in pads and experiment with their position and pitch.Use that too for drumloops.You can have your own drum hits.

not the same with the 2000/xl. i used to have an xl, but it has been some time now. i cant remember what i used to do to solve this problem on my old xl. i would have to play with one.

well all i do to stop one is go into PROGRAM mode then press MAIN SCREEN and the sample will stop.

its a habit now and works fine

The MPC4000 actually has 2 nd FX DSP, apart from the 4bus FX in mutli/program.
This FX is located in “trim and “record, the really cool thing is that each sample in trim can have its own FX setting: like patch memory, yes FX setting are saved per sample! …Koolaid

Could you explain a little more? Are you talking about the q fx in the trim and record mode? If so "Mode: COMMAND" is real time effects and "Mode:FX" is a rendered version? Nice tip by the way, thats an extra buss for effects. Good for one shots.
