Bug reports & end-user support for Akai's MPC Software 'controllers' including the new MPC Studio 2, the MPC Touch, MPC Renaissance & original MPC Studio and MPC StudioB lack.

I have just recently purchased the MPC Renaissance and went through two weeks of phone tag to get the firmware updated correctly. Now that I can use the MPC I realize that this is a huge learning process for me and there aren't many resources or information on a lot of topics, that being said id apreciate any help I can recieve on the use of a program that ive created as well as a plugin such as the bank, for example..

Lets say I have my own program loaded into the pads and im satisfied my drum pattern in the sequence and I would like to use an expansion for the remaining instument(s). I would like to use my midi keyboard to play this and not change my existing sequence. But, no matter which sequence I am I am in when I switch over to plugin my loaded sounds are replaced with those from whichever instrument i choose. Is there any way around this?

You need to put every separate instrument on a different track. ATM u are changing the program that is being triggered by the pattern you have recorded. Either press track + on the hardware screen (one of the f buttons) or navigate the cursor on the hardware screen to the track number field (not program, track) then rotate the jog wheel. You can also make or select a different track on your computer. The programs in mpcs are your instruments and the tracks are where the midi (notes) is recorded to.

This is very basic, standard audio stuff. You need to read the manual.
