Bug reports & end-user support for Akai's MPC Software 'controllers' including the new MPC Studio 2, the MPC Touch, MPC Renaissance & original MPC Studio and MPC StudioB lack.

Running latest FW and OS on OSX 10.7.5. I always leave my music rig and computer running constantly, however when I come back to work the REN is locked up (no blinking tempo, etc). If I power cycle it it comes back up with with the MPC logo or just a blue screen.

If I go into the MPC stand alone software prefs and change the playback hardware to say another interface, the RENs interface comes back up but does not control anything.

Is anyone else having this problem? Im wondering if I upgrade to Mountain Lion (10.8.x) this will stop happening? Any ideas?

Thanks.

I understand for a small setup turning everything off might make sense, but if you have a larger setup it really doesn't. Regardless I ended up updating to Mountain Lion (10.8.x) and re-installed the REN driver. Waiting to see if it remedied the hanging.

I feel, I got a bit sensitive. Last time that was happening to me, the hardrives were put to sleep by the screensaver.

Yes, it could be that the sleep mode / hibernation configuration is on.

I would suggest coming back to making music every 23 hours :P

I used to power off my Ren but leave my computer on and I was able to just power it back on later and it would have no troubles starting back up where I left off.

It makes sense in every situation if you care about ecology and waste full days. If you're just leaving your studio to sleep 8h then come back to it i"d understand but 24h ? Turn it off.

I use these kind of things (i don't know the english word) :

In the U.S. we call them power strips / surge protectors (if they are good)

Power bars are something you eat here :P gives you energy lol.

Haha, technically correct it's called a "Mehrfachsteckdosenleiste" in German...

EDIT: And yes, I don't know many people playing Scrabble...

I have everything in Energy Saver disabled (or set to never) except for "Display Sleep" which is set for 30mins.

In Oz, we call them power boards.

Turn that shit off, stop wasting the life of your MPC LCD and backlight.

@SimonInAustralia,
If I turn off the Ren while a project is up on the computer, then come back and turn it back on, it hangs as well. So your saying this is normal? That's all Im trying to get clarification on.
