Stuart Bridges
You'll never craft a perfect mix using touch screen.

Retronyms
Is it specifically the touch screen you're worried about? If control precision is your concern, we have some features up our sleeves

Akai Professional
^You've said too much! lol ..Stuart Bridges, indeed...we have something really cool to show you...hang tight.

Stuart Bridges
The problem I have with touch screen is the parameter value jump when lifting my finger from the screen. The idea is innovative but lacks the ultra precision of knobs and faders, which is not ideal if you are serious about getting a good mix, but sure I'll hang fire

Akai Professional
We've solved that...stay tuned

Akai Professional
In addition to 64 tracks and the Flux Link, iMPC Pro will feature multitouch sample chopping.

At a glance, iMPC Pro will let you see note events & modifier data (velocity, tuning, etc). Here's the timeline view.

Matt Cadena
not to mention that MPC Fly might make a comeback. since i don't think touchscreens offer that same pad-mashing tactile goodness.

Akai Professional
Pads are excellent, no doubt. We have an inkling the MPC Element will work with it

Jon Lindsey
Can we PLEASE get an answer as to wether it will have Audiobus? A simple yes or no will suffice , thanks in advance.

OSDJ73
No

Jon Lindsey
Lol, oh well, cock blocking audiobus is just going to mean less sales. people need it to have audiobus. I'm sure people are going to get it but users like myself who bought Impc and deleted it aren't going to buy Impc pro, if I can't use it with another iOS DAW without having to copy and paste then I'll stick with Beatmaker2.

Retronyms
+Jon Lindsey We haven't announced feature details about that stuff yet. iMPC Pro will support quite a few Inter App Audio features, but for now stay tuned about other details.

OSDJ73
My guess is it'll support IAA but not AB. On a positive note, I read on the AB forum that the AB guys are working on IAA for AB! If this is true it'll probably let Retronyms of the hook.

Thanks for compiling that all in one post. Informative! I like what I see so far. This may take me away from BM2.

Using iMpc. Has anyone worked out a way to backup AND somehow IMPORT sequences from and into iMPC?

I can't see a way to do this ans even a workaround would be ideal for me as I don't want to invest many hours programming sequences if they can't be saved and I ported back in at a later date. This is crucial for example if you get a new iPad.

Hope to hear back from someone on this.

Google?

Export...

Maybe you can't import them back in?

This forum thread says no, it has been requested, maybe hassle Retronyms, but as they are busy making iMPC Pro, they probably have given up on iMPC...

Hi. Yes I know about export. The emphasis was on importing them back into the app. Such a shame they haven't thought this one through. The prospect of creating lots of grooves and not being able to import into a new future device makes it pointless.

Just hold on and wait for iMPC PRO to come out from the looks of it so far it is even giving MPC Software a run for the money.

Coolderb, are you saying without a jailbroken ipad its possible to use MPC desktop in conjunction with iMPC to import sequences?

No, it is possible to import sequences with a non-jailbroken Ipad. You just have to use iTunes (official method) or iFunbox (unofficial method).

Amazing to hear it is possible. I have tried. Can you tell me how this is done please?

Thank you so much for replying and persisting with helping me.

I have already tried following this instruction. I know how to export the sequences into MPC Desktop. I also can see those in iTunes under the file sharing section. The problem I am having is, say I get a new ipad, there seems to be no way of getting those saved sequences into a new device?

As a test, I created a new sequence on iMPC, then exported it this way. Then I go into my ipad and delete that sequence I've just created. When I connect my device again and sync, the sequence I deleted from my ipad still does not re-appear?

Am I missing something somewhere?

Thanks again and please bear with me :)

I think I understand what's going on. It looks like the 'sync' is actually a one time transfer deal as opposed to a true sync. What you may have to do is manually copy the files back to the Ipad using iFunbox (if you aren't jailbroken) or iFile (if you are jailbroken). You should probably copy it to the /var/mobile/Applications/iMPC/Documents folder.

Yes that one time transfer sync explains it. I wasnt aware I could use another program like ifunbox. I'll give that a try. And report back with my findings. Thanks
