I can turn my Ren off and on within projects with no problems. My laptop has run out of battery and entered hibernation, i've turned the ren off, charged my laptop, returned it to the ren and as it wakes up from hibernation the ren still works straight away with the software, as in the sequence that was playing picks up midway through and continues.

Sometimes the software hangs when I open a different project, but turning the ren itself off and on basically always fixes it.

So yeah turn it off and on again. Classic IT advice.

Gotta agree that leaving it turned on 24 hours is a good way to burn out your gear and waste electricity for no benefit.

Seconded, I couldn't reproduce the issue on a 10.7.5 system. My Software only hangs occasionally when I start it on a Mavericks system, the lower the buffer size, the more often. Runs perfect on Lion, though, even after leaving it on for 24 hours now. Check your hibernation settings!

while it's true it's better to turn off to save electricity and lower green house emissions(I work for norcal power utilities lol) and that heat kills electronics, it is actually better to leave electronics on than switch it on and off constantly

I've got 3 interfaces, computer, couple drum machines to power up...sometime I dont feel like saving everything and leave it on for couple weeks at a time, never had single problem.

Im going to try and flash the firmware again. Cause, any time I turn it off (with a project open), come back 12 hours later and turn it on it's hung. Power cycling doesn't help. I have to quit the app, turn off the Ren, turn the Ren back on, reload the project.

I had the same issue and found that Windows has power saving modes built into the USB ports. This is why the Ren has to be powered down then powered back on to wake up the port. You have to go into device manager and set the USB controller not to sleep. This also helped reduce other issue.

NOTE: Make sure you are using 1.0 or 2.0 USB port because the 3.0 port (using Windows) causes frequent disconnects.
