Akai mpc element cubase 7.5 MMC controls

Hi,

I just baught a akai element as a controller. But I can't seem to get the transport controls to function. I allready searched at noterepeat. As far as I can see, you need an xml file for the ren and studio. I cant find the xml for mpc element.

They call it seamless integration of your daw. But my old akai mpc2000 is working great. This piece of s** isn't.

Some boxes can be ticked, like mmc send and receive. Doesnt do anything. My Daw, cubase 7.5 doesnt receive mmc messages. Anybody knows how to connect it to cubase just as a midicontroller?

Seems you need another plugin to get transports to function. So Installed the plugin. So mmc works. But now the notes arnt recorded. I tried all my midi inputs In cubase you have all midi inputs. But it seems it will only record notes in the essential program and not in a midi lane. Anyone knows about this or knows a workaround?

This might be the answer you're looking for (the way I got my MMC to work from Akai MPK25):
From the top of the screen, click "Transport", open "Project Synchronization Setup". There you'll find "Machine Control Input", select "MMC Slave Active", select your device from "MMC Input" -dropdown menu. That's it
If you need Cubase to send start message to MIDI out (i.e. when you press play from Cubase your hardware starts to play too) you can select that from the bottom of this same setup window, "Always Send Start Message".

Seems you really need the plugin. Otherwise it wont function.
Installed the plugin. MMC is functioning. But the pads arnt. They only record in essentials software. So not in a cubase lane/track.

How about if you try to keep your MPC Elements just as a midi input device inside Cubase and then try this

That does work with my mpc2000. Just select all midi inputs and mmc device id 127, but doesnt work with mpc element. With the plugin it functions well. But then it doesnt send midi notes to the track. Only to the mpc element software plugin.

Seems like this is going back to where I baught it.

Seems it now responds. only when in "Midi control mode" Only thing that isnt functioning is the note repeat. But I dont think it wil. Only in the essentials plugin software.

Does your mpd have note repeat functioning?

I got MPK25 and it does have note repeat. Works just fine, but i don't really use it.

The element has the button note repeat, but i dont think it is synced to cubase swing/quantize. Doesnt do anything atm. But is does respond to mmc and I can punch some notes in. So okay for now. But would be great if note repeat functions.

To record notes (from pads) into a DAW you'll need to use CONTROLLER MODE, and I don't know whether Elements has that.

In midi control mode it records notes. I discoverd that, but does it also uses note repeat swing or quantize. The note repeat doesnt do anything at the moment.

Can't guarantee it but if I have time later I'll pop open my copy of Cubase 7.5 and see if I can get it working. For some reason I think there is a way but it's been a while since I've used it with Cubase...

I read numerous threads here and came to the conclusion that note repeat on the mpc element is, for all I know, only for the software vst plugin. MMC works. If you start the akai plugin, and go to midi control tab it acts as a midi controller, without the note repeat. Guess my old mpc2000xl isnt useless after all.
