Wow. I never quite realized how buggy these units are. I've had mine for 4 or 5 years but used it only periodically and often as surface to tap stuff into software. Trying to come up with solution to work around some of its wacky saving issues I decided to turn off autoload. Still autoload. Did factory reset and turned it off again. Still won't stop autoloading. Akai 2.12 system.

However despite that, the only thing I can offer is that mine works fine under 2.12
If you can do it no other way, empty the internal memory (Autoload) and place an empty file in there (I seem to remember you cannot empty it completely) and then Auto will have nothing to load.
Not an elegant solution but cheap. :?
