Is there a way with out using the hardware to just use the mouse to delete midi notes in plugin mode? It seems easy to draw the notes in but then when i just want to quickly erase a bunch of hi hats its not so easy. any advice? thanks

Don't know how to turn the pencil into an eraser when in plugin mode, like you can with the alt/option key in standalone mode.

You can double-click with the pencil to erase single notes, or use select mode and drag or use the shift key to highlight multiple notes and hit the delete key.

What computer OS, and which DAW are you using?

On a PC, in Pro Tools, it lets me select and delete with either the backspace or the delete keys, but doesn't let me use the alt key to change the pencil tool into an eraser.

On a Mac, in Logic, it lets me select and delete with either the backspace or the delete keys, but it does let me use the option key to turn the pencil into an eraser as well.

Maybe there is some setting in ableton that would let me have more control with the pc keyboard i need to look into that.

While you have the track selected that you want to erase the MIDI notes from; press stop on the MPC sequencer so nothing is playing.

While it's stopped, press the erase button, you'll have the option to erase notes, automation data, or all for the selected track.

Is this what you're looking for?

I also use Ableton but I wont be home for another 6-7 hours

Yeah okay, I was talking about the erase button on the hardware, not used to people using it without the hardware (I know you can :) )

I'm on a Mac but I can press "Alt" while the MPC plugin is in focus (in Ableton) and the eraser shows up to delete notes. Should do the same thing on a PC I think.

this has been a problem for me since they released the ren,, very annoying to say the least. I use Cubase, when I have a riff with lots of notes I have to delete them all individually, when I select the whole lot and press delete the ren deletes something in Cubase as it thinks its still controlling that..

The work around this is to select all notes and select cut on the ren plug in but just don't past them.....

I hope this helps until they sort this thing out but im not confident, they don't seem to be bothering with the plug in part on any updates..
