Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Okay, honestly! Who haven’t been messing around with a unit and just “try-by-doing” and see what happens?

Anyway I was playing around with my Akai Mpc-2000xl and I wanted to try something else, than using it as midi-sequencer, so I had taken a 5 sec sample of a “saxophone loop”, which I wanted to fit into a sequence where I had set the BPM to 91 with 2 bars.

Therefore, I went into my “Trim” function and was messing a bit around and suddenly in my “Params” screen I could see what “tune” I had to set my saxophone sample loop to make fit the amount of bars and BPM that had been sat.
• I shut down the MPC because I had to cook some food and when I went back to my MPC, then I couldn’t get it straight how I did it.

Can anyone help me here?

It's pretty simple. Page 109 of the manual
Just make sure your sample loop isn't too short for the number of bars you need to set.

Let me know if you still struggling.

Hello *Pilchard*,
Thanks for the answer

Are we looking into the same manual?

When I look into the manual (MPC-2000XL) page 109, it gives me a chapter about “Trim” and which options I have with
• ST, End and View
• “All”, “Zone”, “Before ST”, “Before To” and “After END”

Can you be more specific/detailed please? :)

Kind regards
TeeVee/Andreas

pdf and physical manual page numbers differ slightly
You were looking at page 98.
Page numbers are at the bottom of each page.

Yeah I found out that too.

You often experience that even if you have set the tune on the right level with beat loop function to match the main tempo, then it doesn’t always fit :)

Therefore, this was a good second option if the other doesn’t work!
