I've just been loading up some old beats (few months old) to mix and compress them, the first went fine, went to save it and it came up with a warning which i think was 'problem with file!!!', or something along those lines…So I persisted, and on like the third go it saved fine.

So I go to load up the second beat, and the MPC froze whilst it was loading the program for the beat. So I gave it a few minutes, thinking it was just being sluggish, but nothing…So I turned it off and on again, went to load up a beat and my memory card was empty! So I plugged the card into my mac (which usually recognises the card and all my samples straight away) and a message come up saying 'disk is not readable on this computer'. I then tried another card which is brand new, and both MPC and Mac picked it up straight away, so I assume the original card is now screwed.

I also tried saving a sample to the original card and the MPC comes up with the 'insert memory card' message…Even though it obviouslt recognises the card?!

I have a back up for the card but it isnt up to date and I dont want to lose all my recent work :(

I have a feeling that IS going to be the case, but can anyone relate to this or tell me why this happened to avoid it happening again?

Thankyou.

an intermittent data connection while writing to the TOC... maybe open your unit up and unplug-replug all connections.

a brown out or power interruption while writing to the TOC? im just guessing.

power supply could be getting old...?

i bet you could reformat your card ind it will work again. or you could try to recover the data with some utility... good luck
