MPC Rebooting itself when hitting a certain area

Hi guys!

I looked for this problem here, didn't find anything that was the same thing so I decided to create this topic.

So basically my 2kxl has rebooted 3 times over the last 2 days, didn't know where the problem was coming from so i tested different things.

I noticed that when I hit a certain part of the MPC, it automatically reboots it.
The part is this one (red circle)


Ok, so I know that we are not supposed to hit this part but it's very problematic because it also reboot sometimes when I hit the nearest pad (A1-A5-A9-A13)) or when i miss (hahaha well, not totally miss the thing i'm not blind but when I don't have the finger right in the middle of the pad) the pads and hit unintentionaly this part.
Don't get me wrong, I don't hit the thing very strongly like an animal, just enough to make sure that the velocity will be at its maximum for the thing i play.

FYI i received this MPC like 2 weeks ago by mail, but it was very well protected (like very very well haha) so i thought maybe it could be the transportation but anyway I look more for a solution than for a cause

If anyone has experienced this, or you can try at home and tell me what it does when you hit this part (for me when i hit it i've 90% chance that the MPC reboot itself).

Thx Lampdog, so yeah basically it's not every 2kxl that are extra sensitive of this particular area.

IDK but I can imagine some kind of a shortcircuit. Or there might be cable that is kind of loose and everytime you "bend" the specific part of the MPC case it will be lossen its contact enough to restart the machine.
I recommend to pull the powercord and open up the machine and look if you could see something looking weird/unusual. If you don't know what to look for you could post some pics here (please use a lamp to enlighten the MPC. The more light, the easier it is to take a good photo and take photos from different angles. Also if you post pics post hi resolution photos).
Much easier: ask peoples you already know if they have experience and if they could take a look at it.
Be careful with the MPC! The issue you described might be caused by a serious malfunction with the power unit and you don't want to get an electrical shock while hitting the pads.

I had somewhat similar problem; it appeared as if I hit some of the pads on the left side a bit stronger, it just restarts.

I have reseated the pad sensor connector and the problem was gone.
