I've been having some good luck by sampling & manipulating. I've been patching the MicroBrute/Logic 9 synths and running them into all sorts of things I have laying around.

Results from sampling/re-sampling and using things like ReCycle, Beatcleaver and Logic 9 to stretch and torture the audio snippets have been wonderful because I can do a lot of real dramatic work and never have to worry about the pitch getting too f*cked. Sampling into the MPC has been awesome but only after being taken through the other stuff first... mostly because of pitch/key.

The MPC is my go-to when I do not care about pitch/key... you can find the blue notes pretty quick, which is awesome until you want to put an instrument in a standard tuning down. Sh*t gets weird for me then. Oh well, it's all coming together!

yeah sometimes you gotta throw pitch and key out the window and do it by ear when it gets out of hand haha... that's basically all my music in a nut shell.
