mpc studio firmware update

yo I havent posted in like two years. What's good everyone? My main question is how do I update my firmware on my Mpc studio. I tried following directions fromt he akaipro site, but it keeps giving me an error. everyone I know that has one expiriences this. I am runnin mavericks on a mbp 13" 2.4 ghz c2d 8gb ram 1tb hd

i'd recommend trying to install the update from another computer with a different operating system to yours, just to try it out.

i had a hell of a time updating the firmware on my ren. i couldn't get it to work from my windows 7 computer at all for ages, in the end i decided to ignore all the instructions akai provided and i just went freestyle, randomly trying out different combinations of turning the ren on and off at different times holding shift and all sorts of bullshit.

in the end i got it to work by following the install instructions and letting it get to an error. after the error occured i just left the mpc alone, ran the installer again, didn't turn the ren off at all during the second install process, i basically ignored all their instructions and it ended up working
