Exchange tips and tricks for the Akai MPC4000

I dont know if this is a bug or something sending a control signal. (mmc :hmmm:) Sometimes when I am recording on the 4000 while it is synced to Live as slave device it will erase or undo the sequence.

It happens after I record a sequence on the 4000. After I use the spacebar to start and stop Live and the 4000, it sometimes erases the sequence on the 4000.

When im wise, I just change the sequence. It prevents it from getting erased. Sometimes I forget though...   :vomit:

Has this happened to you?

...the whole sequence!?

or just that track you recorded on...?

does it happen randomly or only straight after recording into the 4000...?

do you have any overall loops set in abletons headline controls...?
session view or arrange view....?

check if the rec button behaviour of the 4000 works properly in slave mode....
does it switch to dub after the first cycle....?

make sure all midi filters work in the mpc and only a midi clock is sended....
a simple midi clock is all you need....no mmc or anything....

does it happen randomly or only straight after recording into the 4000...?

I'm going to test it out some more, not quite sure.

Yes, there is stuff going on with ableton.

check if the rec button behaviour of the 4000 works properly in slave mode....
does it switch to dub after the first cycle....?

Yeah, the record switches to overdub.

make sure all midi filters work in the mpc and only a midi clock is sended....
a simple midi clock is all you need....no mmc or anything....

I'm going to monitor it thru the midi monitor field. Do you need mmc to start and stop?

I'm on a smartphone editing the post is a pain in the ass.

You guys should bring back the posts being editable. Is that a word?

You dont need mmc to start and stop. Ouch, no midi events being viewed in the midi monitor screen.

4000 as the master runs way smoother. The ear thing happens from time to time to me to when I'm in song mode all of a sudden a sequence will disappear idk why. I always save now asap
