well I for one am going through toons of vinyl these days (like 10Gis of wav (post sliceing up).. zo

even if I'm only using 10-20% of global wav memory the recording screen shows that I only have 2minutes left ..although I know its more like 6,

then it will reach a point where it tells me I have 40sec left I'll go into global and I'll see that I have 50% of free wav,??? more like 4minutes

but record wont pass 40sec, and if I record all 40 second to the end, the record screen will just show that I have 40sec left again??

this must be a bug !! I'm in 24/96k mode 256mb os1.6

Record shows you the largest chunk of free memory available, because it can only store new sample dat in continuous free memory chunks.

What you probably need to do now is reorganize your sample memory in GLOBAL mode in the same page where you saw the 50% free wave memory. This takes all the little snippets of free memory and glues them into one big chunk of free RAM again.

Hope this helps.

sup,

^yeah happens all the time here, the memory fragments if alot of samples are being recorded in Etc.......
just go into the global menu, hit F2 to enter the memory page, then change operation to "defragment" and hit do it.
And things make sense again, but this process can take some time to complete.
