Hey everyone,
Just bought the MPC Ren, and I'm having an issue with the Q-Links...

The only way I can figure out to use the qlinks is by clicking the nob in the software and then either manipulating the qlink on the hardware or using the mouse to manipulate the software knob...

I can't adjust/manipulate the qlink, on its own, on the mpc hardware

I've installed all the drivers, firmware, etc...

Any recommendations?

Thanks

Go to program edit and see if you get any action when you turn the knobs. While in program edit hit a few of the F1-F-6 commands too to see if the software responds to the qlinks.

Not getting anything under program edit...qlink lights change up depending on the F key I hit...but I can't manipulate them on the mpc

The only way I can get the q links to respond is in the midi control screen

Actually got the q links to work for a split second..., but now back to no response...I'm assuming this is a driver problem, but I'm not much of a computer guy

Only other suggestion I have is to do a complete reboot and unhook/hook the USB cable. If still no success try reinstalling the driver. Hurry, 1.7 is dropping soon!

Change the q link setting to real time from note on ,at top of the qlinks screen not sure what there called as I sold my ren ,its the setting under changing the operation of the q links u have to do each one

Well...

I couldn't get the Q Links, on the MPC Ren itself to work on my Mac Mini, so I loaded the MPC Software on my Macbook Pro.

I got the Q Links to work right away....In version 1.1....However, when I upgraded to 1.6 they stopped working...So, I'm back where I started

Tried changing the Q-Link settings from Real-Time to Note On, but that didn't do anything for me.

Have u set the qlink to do something like tuning etc.
What Mac mini do u have ,
I was using a Mac mini and 1.6 and all working
Have u updated the firmware for the mpc

Aldred411,

My Mac Mini was a mid-2010, my macbook pro is about 2 years old...Both work fine...

I just got this yesterday, so I haven't done anything to the Q-Links...

I've installed the firmware, the MPC says it's installed....I'm not sure where the problem lies...

To reiterate,
The Q Links were working as they should when I had installed the 'in the box' MPC software on my macbook pro....Still haven't figured out how to get the man mini working....

My only thought is to erase the MPC 1.6 software, and reinstall the factory software on my Macbook Pro...Otherwise, I'm running out of ideas...

Let me know if you can think of anything else...Thanks for your input, I appreciate it.

Unistalled 1.6....Reinstalled 1.1 and now the Q-Links are working...I updated to 1.5, but Q-Links stopped working there as well...Unistalled 1.5 and reinstalled 1.1

I guess I'll just use it in 1.1 for the next few days to see how I like it...If anyone can think of a solution to this problem, please let me know...

Weird , def never had no problems with the qlinks , hopefully someone can chime in with some help.

Are they not set to off to start with
I'm looking at a screenshot at the mo
Have u set the link to a pad
Have u set it to a param
Then under param u can change to real time or note on
Do they control the track mixer volumes
I don't think I was on 1.1 straight to 1.3 when I got mine but I'll have a look at the release notes see if the changed anything

Nope , but 1.3 says better q link performance .
Hope u get it sorted ,prob something really simple ,like most things
