Is it possible to chop, on the Ren, by duplicating your pad/sample and then adjust your start and end points for each pad/sample to build your program? I hope that makes sense.
I know I can do it on Maschine and on my software samplers but can't figure out how to do it on the Ren.

That's not exactly what I was looking for, "extract doesn't allow you to have access to the full sample just incase you want to re-adjust your start time earlier. I was trying to find a video explaining it but I can't find one but basically chopping by duplicating can be very fast, and I thought that I did it in the Ren before but I must be mistaken.

Just pad copy and adjust your start/end points.

I believe this copies file. Not sure though. If so that can snag allot of ram. Specially if your running 32 bit

no duplicating pad doesn't duplicate the sample, it assigns the same sample as the original. they need to add sample start time as a possible q-link destination as well as put it in the program edit section.

at the moment the only way to do stuff like this is within sample edit. so you have to copy the sample however many times you want to repeat it then set the start time for each one individually, which is a total pain since in sample edit the pads behave as note on instead of as a one shot.

as a sidenote the way the pads work in sample edit is pretty bad, many pads arent used and some are used to do basically the same thing as each other. the pads on the top row should navigate between samples, that would speed up doing individual starts and ends a lot

People were asking for Maschine-style pad duplicate months before the Ren even dropped, but I think they got bored of asking.

Ok I thought it was just me editing samples on here is wack it's just like the 2500 hopefully 1.7 will fix this then the Ren will be no joke!!!

Yeah, I agree: Maschine's way of handling duplicating pads and having pad-specific playing of the sample is superior. Ren's way is a memory hog (if/when you have to duplicate the sample for each new pad playing the "same" sample).

What's up Jones?! In order to do what you are asking, it would require non-destructive chop, which is not implemented yet.

What's up Hellfire.
Hopefully non-destructive chop as well as the "playback as recorded" features have been addressed in the 1.7 update.

Reading between the lines, it is about to come, as of yet it's not.

Well, after this thread they said they were definitely adding it. Just not sure when because it's not as easy as one would think!
