What? Of course headphones will work in a headphone jack.

Ok mate before you jump down my throat and rip out my heart, yeah ofcourse they will work i am 100% aware if i plug them into the heaphone jack and load a sample and hit a pad i should hear sound corresponding to the pad but in my cans buddy, the question relates to the quality of that sound being ran from the mpc and not trhough an amped mixer or hp amp, i have read in a review of the AKG240 saying that to really get the most from these hp you need to have a sufficently powered amp to DRIVE them? Thats what i am asking Stilo.OK bud..Isnt that french for Pen?

Ok "buddy"... I have those K240 myself, and trust me, the sound will be good enough when you use it in the headphone outs.

Velvet ? . . . Yes, velvet . It has a leather set too but these things are like sofa's for your ears on a 4 am beat quest when you don't wanna wake the fam up .

I bought the AKG K240. I did noticed that the sound level was fairly low even if i put the master output on full. Do you guys use it on a separate amp or directly out the mpc headphone jack output?

i've got the black ones and with the mpc 2500 they work fine, i mean they're quiet but enough. i usually have my main volume pot set to 3/4.
Maybe the 1000 out is different but i doubt

I still have the same issue. Im not using the 1000 (using the 2500). My master out is on Max. Im using the JJOS. I did not have this issue when using the akai firmware but then again i also did not have the AKG at that time. I will try converting back to the akai firmware to see if i can hear any difference. It is so low that i have difficulty hearing my tracks when the tv is on...lol

When you switch between Operating Systems I believe your master volume level gets reset to -12dB. You should be able to switch it to 0dB. Mode + Pad 10 should get you there.
