New to MPC 5000, need a simple question answered.

I just bought an MPC 5000 and it doesnt already have the os 2 upgrade which i must do. Akai Pro says to download the os and copy it to a cf card, but my laptop doesnt have a cf card reader. Therefore, i was wondering could i copy it to a blank disk and upgrade through the disk drive?

i'm shure you can transfert the os by usb ,no ?

I recall having to do it from cf card. So I know for a fact you can move items from computer to cfcard or hdd on the mpc 5000. Just connect the mpc to computer via usb. both cf card and hdd will show on your computer. move the os to the cf card. disconnect the mpc from computer and proceed with the akai update instructions.
