Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Really need some help here. What I'm trying to do is record audio from my 2000xl into logic. Now i can do it one track at a time. But what i want to do is record multi tracks at the same time, to save time. I bought the mpc and logic book and followed the instructions. Assigned the pads to individual outs on my 8 outs. But i get no sound going into logic, only if i use my main outs. What am i doing wrong ?

Mpc2000xl (with 8 outs)
Logic 9
Focusrite saffire pro 14 (i can use four inputs at a time)

Go into the MPC's mixer and assign the pads to whatever channel you want to send them to. If ya pad A has a kick, and you want to record it on track 1 of logic...make sure you have 1/2 selected if stereo or 1 assigned in the mpc mix if it's mono...in logic, make sure you select the correct input channel for track one. I hope that makes sense..it is very simple but I had the same issue

Yep, i had allready sent the pads to the 8 outs like you. It was logic i messing up in. Like an idiot everytrack was set to input 1, in logic. But of course i had a brain fart, then it just clicked in my brain, logic input 1, next track input 2 etc etc. set it as a template, and woo hoooo. Im away with mutiltrack recording. Felt very very stupid when i realised what i had done. But, thank you anyway.
