Depending on what MPC you own because you didn't say which one you own!!! This is only capable with the MPC500. Yes. The em pee cee five hundred. Put that in your pipe and smoke it chief.
You don't have to truncate if you don't want. I don't because I can use the excess pieces.
Just set your start and end points, and set LOOP to ON in TRIM MODE. Then in PROGRAM, set the sample to NOTE ON. And now just hold the pad down then hold SHIFT, then let the pad go and then release SHIFT.
And your looping samples. But only possible on the MPC500.
you migh thave to adjust the release too, or the loop wont play correctly.
ill green is talking about having the sample loop over and over like an sp does, but im talking about having the end loop over when you push it, then fade out slowly similar to this video on the mv.
^^^ the mpc 1000, 2500, 4k, ect et. can do this.
@green, do you know if the 500 can do that too? i dont remember.

The MV can only do that with MIDI instrument samples though. Its built like a synth engine.
However that can be done manually on the 500 when you resample the tails of the OG sample and apply some decay. You'll be spitting potatoe chips in some kid's face in no time.
