Recording on the Fly.

Hi guys, Currently using the mpc studio, I was wanting to know how to arrange/sequence your songs without adding them through the song mode(sequence 1, 4 bars etc....). I want to hit record at the start of my beat and record/play it live so it creates a more hands on feel.

Turn off the metronome, set the bars of sequence to 99 or 999 and turn off Time Correct. That alone should turn it into a tape recorder and you will be able to record in realtime.

Amazing thank you, surely akai have a easier function for this, The whole idea is make music in real time?

This is how I do it...I just open Audio Hijack Pro (I'm on Mac) and just record my live performance...I make sequences on different tracks and do live real time track mutes. Then just open up the Audio Hijack Pro file in Reason and add additional bass, synths, whatever there...Not ideal, but works and I just enjoy the spontaneity it can bring-

If the MPC Studio/Ren had Audio Tracks, all your prayers would have been answered.
