sorry if this is a double post but:

using the mpc software inside ableton 9 as sequencer with the play button activated gets me graphical errors on the display of the Ren when i switch screens (lets say i switch from program edit mode to browser e.g.)

Only hitting stop and then switching to different screens inside the ren a couple of times clears up the screen back to normal.

Editing sound-parameters while the whole beat is played back is difficult because of this.

Its a not that major bug, but not that good for the workflow either, please fix this.

Make sure that MPC Software/Preferences/Other/Sampling Bit Depth is set to either 16 or 24, and that it is not blank.

When exporting a MPC1000 PGM, please convert WAV files to 16 bit? I'm not sure if it's different on the MPC1000 but my MPC500 can't read 24bit files... and if the source sample was 24bit, the MPC software won't convert them.

(I use the MPC studio to build beats and drumkits at home but I use a 500 on stage)

When using 16 level tuning on a sample, the four lowest and highest notes dont change. For example, pads A1-A4 will be the same note and pads D13-D16 will be the same note.

Can't replicate this one. Working fine on my end!

I think the 16 level tuning has a limited range. For me, this is happening only when i move quite many steps away from pad A4 as root note. Don't think its a bug.

yes in tuning 16 levels, if you set the original pitch to a16 the bottom four don't change pitch, vice versa if you set it to a1 for the top four. it's not a bug (just bad design), the pitch systems are just not consistently set and have different ranges whether you're adjusting the pitch of a pad using a q-link, in 16 levels mode or adjusting the pitch of a whole program.

the really braindead part comes from the fact that they set a range in 16 levels that doesn't fully cover all use scenarios, it can only tune 12 semitones up and 12 semitones down, despite there being SIXTEEN pads. so make it 16 semitones up and 16 semitones down, and you'll have covered every scenario

but it still would be better if you could access the banks in 16 level mode for tuning (wouldn't make sense for velocity/filter or any of the other 16 levels modes, but for tuning it would be great to be able to access a larger range. as it is you have to decide when you trigger 16 levels tuning whether you're going to be playing mostly above the standard pitch, or mostly below. if the bank buttons were used, defaulting to say Bank E, you could easily access 64 semitones above and below the standard pitch)

Was hoping it was just a bug, as most of my 5k sequences are now half destroyed. Why would they do that?

I am now realizing that i explained it wrong. The above is what is what i was trying to communicate.

Software Buggy!!!
Windows 7 Home Premium/MPC Studio
1. Copied drum track 1 to drum track 4 to edit. Edited track 4, erased track 1 attempted to copy edited track 4 back to track 1 and it shows the notes in the software, shows the drum pad indicator light grooving to the newly edited rhythm but no sound! If I change the track to plugin or midi the track plays, copy the edited rhythm to another pad location in the track it plays! ????????? :hmmm:

2. Using external software as a rack (Reaper) to work around the 32 bit issue and when muting the track in the MPC software and then unmuting, the software sends out a volume message of 127 causing the volume adjusted in the rack to play at full volume.

3. If a track is playing in overdub or record and the mutes are recorded you can't undo the recorded mute activity! Tried redoing it live and that isn't an option either.

WOULD LIKE TO SEE:

1. Right click on track edit functions. i.e. cut, copy, paste, mute, with the ability to highlight the selected events right click and apply selected function.

2.TRACK AND SEQUENCE NAMING FUNCTIONS DIRECTLY FROM HARDWARE!!!!
Like a real MPC does....

3. UNDO function re-tweaked!
Recorded a bass track, then some brass... Could not quite get the brass track right recorded 3 times. After the third take, I accidentally hit that undo button twice and my "unsaved" bass line was gone and the REDO function only brought back the last brass take.
