How long is the latency between the finger touch and the audio out ?
I agree there is two latencys there. Touch lag and process +buffer.
This question is relative to the ipad only version, whiteout the controller.

Please answer :)

The magic phrase here is Minimum App Response Time (MART) and it depends on what device you're using.

Its the kind of info that should be easy to find on a musical instrument. Its a determinent information.

I brought it and it feel ARROUND 60 ms.

Someone please let me know more about this latency ( or MART)

60ms is huge and very bad.

2-7 is somewhat acceptable.

5-15 is where your ears begin to distinguish latency between notes, meaning you can focus in and "hear" the delay. Some people don't even have to focus that much.

I agree it's huge and unacceptable.
I'm used to 1 ms thru a 64 buffer on my desktop pc.

But on ipad you can't expect a short latency like this!

Is anybody at akai aware of the latency or is this off topics ?

I'm going to go ahead and say it.

I've had zero latency problems on beatmaker 2 on my ipad 3. I control my triton extreme, turbo phatt and native bm2 sounds with ease.

0 latency problem ? according your last post in mean between 2 and 7 ms.

to clarify, i don't talk/care about playing with a sequencer, i would like to know the latency between the touch and the audio stream.

So you mean this latency is < 7 ms??

thank you Lampdog.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/kis95u0gsmeamr4/average.JPG

impc: 44.25 ms
pad24: 42.25 ms

test on ipad 2
the average is computed on 4 samples only.
the impc include some processing so the few more ms seems legit.

first impact on the wavefiles is my nails tapping the screen.

this is not a very accurate technique, but we can say already than we are not in a 5 ms range.

Beatmaker 2, touch screen, controlling sound module turbo phatt <7ms is my guess because I can hear no audible delay from ipad3 touch to speakers, even fast tapping gives me exactly what I want.

I never said sequencer.
