The Perfect MPC software setup...

This is just a wish, but i really like the fl studio browser and how you can click the same wav file repeatedly. Also when i click a file it plays instantly not even a small gap in time. But I also love the MPC sequencer and pad setup. So for 1.7 can you guys make a better browser and let me click the same file with the mouse so i can audition it thanks

The small soundwave icon to the left of your sounds on the browser....

I right-click that tny soundwave icon to instantly audition my sounds. It only 'auditions' while I am right-clicking which is great cause I don't want an entire song of several minutes to play every time I audition a sound file. I only want to audition it, find what I need, drag it to the project.

WAV files play instantly without a small gap, unless there is a small gap at the beginning of the file but MP3s inherently add a small gap at beginning and end during encoding.

Are you talking about something totally different that you are trying to do?

ok yeah thats good to know about clicking the speaker icon, but i really need that icon next to each file or something. I like to click the sound alot to make sure it goes with the beat and if i have to go down each time it seems to waste time. but is there any key on the pc keyboard that would be a shortcut for clicking the speaker icon that would also work then i could keep the mouse in the brower as i skimmed through each sound

True...

When I browse from pc, that icon is next to each sound and it takes me all of 2 secs to go to whatever sound and right click it... On the hardware I have to use cursor up or down to the sound and even as an OLD hardware guy, I found mouse to go straight to the file and start playing it... (Mouse control on a bigger screen is one thing I personally use to wish I could do way back in the day)

That icon is next to each sound file on the left....

ok cool i get it now but it only seems to work in standalone mode and not as a plugin hmm but thanks for the info i can always make the kit then save it and load it in the daw

Yes, from my experience, plugin mode needs some code loving, as much works differently as plugin. I do most of what I need to do standalone, then pull it in DAW as a plugin, or just export tracks and import into DAW.

Novel concept here.....use the hardware and not focus on the computer screen. The fun is in working with the MPC hardware!

What a wonderful machine and piece if hardware. So used to older MPC's I don't want to spend time clicking a mouse button. Auditioning via the hardware is instant whilst scrolling through?

I doubt any major change request on the 21st of last month gonna make it to 1.7. Lol Maybe 2.0. But its a good idea, still why are requesting features that other programs have. Maybe you should consider the other programs instead being that they are light years ahead. You gonna waiting till you 65 before some of these features are even considered. Lol.

I believe MPC software wants to be it own beast, not a copy of someone elses.

The rREN has the potential to be the last MPC you'll ever need, being that its software based,they can continue to grow it with the times. Just get the right programmers involved and be consistent with the updates. Hellfire mentioned the beta testers keep making request for more stuff, so it slowed down the update. my thing is have a cutoff point and drop those other requested feature in 1.8.
