Q-FX on a one-shot (Sample length)

so i have a perc sound that i wanna turn freaky with FX. but i wanna save on FX by applying a delay and some other FX to it through Q-FX. The sample length, pre Q-FX treatment is now say 20,000. If i apply delay it doesn't adjust the length of the sample, so it cuts at 20,000. I want it to be say 50,000 long.

I poked around and tried to adjust the end point pre the Q-FX treatment but i can't see where to do it. I don't want to time stretch, just add silence at the end.

I suppose i could merge it with a sample of silence, but that seems like a real wonky work around.

nope. i can preview it in the q-fx window, but if i try export, i get the clipped version.

Well, why don't you just use a regular fx delay, sequence a hit with the correct sendlevel and fx params and resample that? And after you have the resampled a delayed version cut to a suitable lenght, switch to doing rest of the fx treatment with the qfx?

yeah, that would do it. it would mean a bit of undoing what i've set so far and then re-doing it later. good to know this is the only way to do it. But I think this time round i'll try merge it with a stretch of silence. probably quicker.

for this sort of workflow, I suggest making a long silent sample and adding it to your autoload.

Turn it down? You could also just do manual sampling.

i meant clipped, as in not the full length. sorry to confuse terminology.
