Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Peace y'all..getting back into beat making and looking for news sounds, archiving currents sounds etc. I have a compact flash reader on my mpc and I use logic and iMac. I know sometime ago there was a program created allowing one to drag and drop samples into a virtual 16 pad layout on the computer, save it to the compact flash card, then insert the card into the mpc and magically the program can be opened in the mpc...am I wrong about this? If not, can I do that?

I ask because I have drum samples saved to my desk top and i would hate to have to same each sound individually to create a program if I can drag and drop. Also if I purchase a download a kit from mpc samples, I would have to sample each sound into the mpc individually this creating a program that I can save on the compact flash card. There must be a faster way
Sorry if the message isn't clear, and thanks in advance for any I doin this topic.

Being on OS X might be a hitch here.

MPC Editor is PC only and has XL support.

MPC187 and MPC Maid are available on OS X (the latter on PC too) but don't support the XL.

Other PC solutions like Blue Box also don't support the XL.

But if you can run Windows on a virtual machine in OS X you could use MPC Editor.
Or any PC even a $10 thrift store one as MPC Editor is old and probably would even run on Windows 98 or ME. It runs fine on XP and Windows 7 as well.
