Pads no longer working for track mutes, and have to reassign Midi pad locations with each use. Where would be the best place to look into for repairs? I'm mainly using my 5000 and Studio these days, but would like to keep the old girl around for backup. I've reinstalled multiple different OS's already...I'm in Michigan, USA if that helps. Looked into local already...Thanks, peoples-

when you reinstalled OS do you load up your old projects and this happens or does this happen even when using stock akai configuration?

Check the RAM seating. Try a different stick if you have access to one. The issues do not sound mechanical or like a dying sensor sheet if it's limited to mutes and MIDI Note # assigns. And it's doubtful every OS file you're flashing would be corrupted.

RAM does go bad, so I think that's the first place to look.

And yeah like konc3pt said I would try the stack OS if that's not your norm just to see if the machine runs properly in it's intended default configuration as you try to narrow down the issue.
