hey whats up guys.
i have a novation 61 and i just got some vsts/plugins but i have to hit the keys hard for me to hear them well. if i press them softly i can barely hear it. is there anyway to have it at full level like with the mpc pads?

Other than Sliding the master fader to the top. I would not know where else for you to look. I have used 2 separate 'cheap' midi controllers and never had that issue, expect with keyboards' volume was down

You didn't specify if it's a Launchkey or Impulse or even the older SL series. But peep out the PDF manual and look for any availability of velocity curve adjustment.

And if you use Ableton there's a MIDI plugin that you can drop on a VST channel to define what level from 0-127 you want your key presses to register at. I used to use it before I modded my MPD32. it was taking two and three finger bashes. Also used the plugin on the occassional wonky VST synth that just had a bizarre default velocity curve response.
