Does anyone have experience opening MPC3000 programs and sequences in the MPC software?

I've been able to do this with all my MPC2500 files but don't have a USB zip drive to try with the MPC3000 files. Before I invest I wanted to try and get the some feedback from the forum. PZ

I tried MPC60 files, but it would not get pass asking did I want to format the disk. I think the way to do it is, if you have another MP 2k,4000... Save the seq and programs to fat32 then load it in the REN software. The MPC editor if your on a Mac is not up to date with apple o.s.

I tried mpc60 programs when the software was first introduced. It would not load all of the sounds, and the programs would not load correctly.

My 60 had os3.10 on it at the time so it would be very similar to a 3000 program except with 12 bit samples.

I didn't have the time to test it yet, but I will in the next days - keep You posted.

Is it nor ironic, that they marketed these products of the back of the 'classic' MPC60 and MPC3000 hardware, yet software produced in 2011-2014 cant load their data flawlessly.

If this can be done already, then I missed the announcement.

Doesnt seem to be many Ren/Studio/ MPC60/MPC3000 users complaining about this in the feature requests...

I use a tedious process, but I've loaded several MPC 3000 files on to my Renaissance with mixed results. For instance, I just loaded a song I made on the 3k & only half of the sounds loaded on the Renaissance. I also have to trim/edit all the samples because the parameters don't transfer either.

I'm still use zip disk for the MPC3000  . I just haven't had the need to transfer files to the MPC Ren from the 3K. I will say I've had 50/50 results with my MPC4000 and MPC1000 files.

Like Maxv said parameters don't load up correctly.

On the MPC4000 the filters don't load correctly with in the MPC Ren.

On the MPC1000 I have to adjust the PGMs to MONO for the PGM to play my MPC1K beats correctly.

So I could imagine that the 3000 files maybe have some issues as well.

Another note I did notice that the original Akai beat files that loaded into the MPC Ren from my MPC4000 or MPC1000 files sounded noticeably thinner.

Interesting, I found that my real problem with loading 4k stuff in the Ren is the effects other that that it's a pretty smooth transition.
Also when I first got the Ren I loaded 4k stuff in the Ren and did lots of comparison.
Definitely didn't hear a thinning in sound.
Could be because I treat the Ren like all other MPs and route it through the same outboard and my other hardware.

Hi,
I can load akai mpc 3k zips on my MacBook. But only the first partition.
So i have something like a transfer zip...
Windows cant read the zips without some tricks... I havent researched it more behause i can load on Mac OS without tricks...

Its been some months since i have transfered my 3k zips
But i can remember that some parameters like filter, envelope and mono/poly where Not right.
Another thing s that you have to load sequences and programms seperatly.
And it loads only the first sequence. You cant save all sequences and programs totgether in the 3 k!
For loading all your 3 k samples it s not that much work, but loading beats from the 3k is a lot of work. But its working at all.

Hope that helps..
Sorry for bad english gramma/writing
Smartphone at work...

Peace
Alfred

Thanks everyone for the replies. Most helpful.

I was surprised there wasn't more info on this. I've had minimal problems with MPC2500 programs and sequences but needed to know about 3000.

MPC-Tutor wrote:I don't have a 3000 but I can certainly load mpc3000 format programs no problem (made in mpc editor). Other file types, I suspect, may be problematic.

Can I open 3000 programs with MPC3000 editor?

Here's a Beat Demo of the original Akai MPC1000 files loaded into the MPC Renaissance without any mixing adjustments just straight raw beat from the Akai MPC Ren and the Akai MPC1000.

MPC Renaissance Version:

Original Akai MPC 1000 Version:

Long story short was doing sound check for a beat battle didn't like the low end on MPC Ren version. The original low end felt better and sounded better through the venue sound system. I played the o.g. via Traktor later in the battle.
