Reviews and questions about the entry-level MPC500

I read the manual and can't figure out if I will need to upgrade to 128 or not.It says the ram is just temporary, and also that a sound needs to load into the ram before a sample can play.My question is when the sound is loaded in a sequence from a program,is all of the data from that program loaded into ram or just that sound.Like can you have a sequence w/ multiple programs and if so does it load everything in each program or just the sounds you are using from each?My mpc comes in the mail today and I was just wondering about this and if I needed to upgrade to the 128 right away to even make a beat at all...

...ram is the place where the brain works....

no matter if we're talking os, sound, sequence.....it all must be kept in the ram all time to keep things going....

and no doubt, all mpc's should be maxed out for sure.....
no way around the ram expansion....128 mb ram is nothing and all you need at the same time....
go and get it....

RAM is your workspace while power is on. Once power is off RAM is gone, so SAVE to media before powering off.

Everything loads to RAM before you can manipulate it. Expand that RAM so you will have more workspace. Sampling time is dependent on RAM, more RAM more sampling time. RAM is dynamic, seq, song, pgm, everything is IN RAM.

Load to RAM and work on your projects.
SAVE ENTIRE MEMORY to media before power off..

GOT IT?
