Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000
By Schlessmonkey Sat Aug 02, 2014 6:48 pm
I Have just installed the 1.2 OS and an addonics Ide to Cf card reader (the correct one) but none of the current compact flash cards I have (various newer ones from Sd and Kingston that were previously used and formatted for cameras) are recognized by my MPC2000XL. Has anybody used this \/ particular card with success?

I am also curious if anyone has had luck reformatting the CF cards on my laptop I currently have. maybe one of you know of some software capable?, Thanks!! :smoker:  :worthy:

I never tried that one.

I have essentially the same OS and reader setup up.

I use 2GB SanDisk Ultra CF 15MB/s ones. No issues. I also use Lexar Platinum II 200x ones and Transcend CF 133x ones.

The 2GB SanDisk ones are good choice as you only lose 1GB on the OS 1.20 formatting limit and often are as cheap as $10 a pop on Newegg.com sales.

The 1GB are just too rare these days and always cost more than 2GB ones even at
full price.

And I only format in the XL itself, it's just gonna be 1GB no matter the card size due to the limits of 1.20 OS. Still a lot of space on a machine that only can load 32MB at a time anyway.

What exact model of Addonics IDE to CF card reader do you have?

Has it ever worked?
