To MPC or not to MPC

I hate using the computer while making beats.
I try to stay away from the mouse and keyboard as much as possible..

Now the Maschine and perhaps the Ren (Only own Maschine) are on a another level as opposed to the MIDI controllers before this.
You know, a MPD 24 and all the keyboard MIDI controllers..
Anyways why I say the Maschine is on another level as opposed to the previous MIDI controllers before it is pretty well know so I'm not going to get it unless anyone would like me to explain..

Basically the difference is that you can make a whole beat without looking at the computer screen or mouse, BUT ya still gotta have the computer plugged in for machines to work..

So if I wanted to use a MPC but wanted one that had a very swift workflow. What MPC would you recommend? I love the fast workflow on Maschine : )

do you currently use the maschine?

if so, no MPC is gonna seem to have as fast a workflow. Because what you know is the maschine workflow.
they're all fine afaik, how fast they are is just a matter of your experience with them.

I recently got a MPC 2500 all decked out.
Or should I say all blacked out.. black pads, buttons, and got the tight screen with the different lighting (kinda like the lighting on the MPC 5000) you know.
But it has had almost no use at all.
This thing is in tip top shape. Looks brand new.
Sticker still has plastic film over the upgraded screen too.
Got JJOS2XL

I got a decent deal on it and picked up since I always wanted a MPC..
Wondering if I should sell it since it's in tip top condition..

Would love a MPC 3000 because of the sound but I am not sure if the workflow on the 2500 would make more sense because of the added features and JJOS and such

I love the MPC 1000! I actually used to use Maschine before and I've never regretted my choice to switch. The thing I always wondered was what the MPC workflow was like.

Very true there, also it's a matter of how far your willing to learn the machine inside out, find shortcuts and practice and hone your technique to improve your workflow.

This is all that ever matters, for any piece of gear.

Watching youTube is great for learning but don't get confused; those workflows look fast and efficient because the person showing off has put in the practice and learned how to use their gear to get that kind of result.

The Maschine isn't any better or worse than an MPC, it's the time and dedication of the musician using it that makes the difference.

Even tho this thread is a bit old and u may have already made ure decision, if ure primary concern is speed, then the newer mpc models are what u r gonna wanna work with. While older models like the 3000 are good for some things, speed in my opinion is not their strengths. Seeing as how u have a 2500 already, u might wanna use it a bit and c, u should figure out within a week or two if it is for u. If not using it for a brief period is not going to affect its resell value all that much, the used prices I ve seen in general haven't fluctuated by a great amount over the past 5 years.

The maschine is straight up fun, more fun than the oler model mpc's. Ive owned the 2kxl, the 3000, and the 4000. None of the newer ones, but when it came to the choice of either the ren or studio? I'm glad I choose the studio.. the possibilities are endless. That's me tho.. fun can be had on whatever if it fits you..

I took a break from making beats for about a year. It was like I took a year off just listening to music instead. I was using the Maschine prior to this and loved it. But now that I have not used it in a while and also because I got a MPC 2500 for a decent deal in the meantime, I am thinking that it would be an good time to learn a new machine. I have been using the Maschine a little bit tho since I started making beats again.

WORD! Makes sense it just seems like perhaps some of the newer MPCS make it easier to get the job done. Like for example to get your project into Pro Tools using JJOS on a MPC 2500.

Maschine is def fun because of the intuitiveness. Why did ya choose the mpc Studio instead of the Ren? Out of the MPC's that you owned what one did you like the best?

Staring at a computer screen during the creation process, IS NO FUN AT ALL.

To the OP: MPC2500 is a great choice, but compared to the 'older models' its instant coffee compared to real filtered stuff. You'll want to try the original, one day, if only to cross the experience off your producers bucket list.

Maschine is def fun because of the intuitiveness. Why did ya choose the mpc Studio instead of the Ren?

I think he has a Maschine Studio, not an MPC Studio.

That's funny, I personally love coffee, I drink a lot of it, ill have an espresso black one cube of sugar any chance i get, and the stronger the coffee is the better, but for some reason at home i drink instant,go figure.

My bad I drank a little too much last night, celebrating lol.. Anyways I got the Maschine Studio. With all the plugins, third party plugins, and Komplete Ultimate 9, along with the ability to sample, unlimited editing options, all in one box? Just fun.. I still have a long ways to go as far as the learning curve, but was pretty much sampling and doing basic programming and sequencing the first day. Out of the 2KXL, 3000, 4000.... the 4000, while overpriced was fun, I loved the 3000...

That's the thing tho Clint, you don't have to stare at the screen all day, everything in and available within the software is accessible within the hardware.. I can do everything with the hardware to where I don't have to look at the screen of my laptop at all.
