CF card Freeze!!!

So I got my 2nd mpc 500(first was defective) running fine now after an issue w/ the power supply and everything works fine with the exception of formatting.I am able to format the CF stock 128mb card that came with it but not the 4gb Akai CF card I purchased.Could someone tell me what is going on?Im new to MPC's but to be honest theses machines seem really quirky haha!

Nevermind...got it to work by updating os!Although it was a little sluggish loading the card up...but once I got it formatted it was fine:)

i have a card that won't work when i format it in the mpc but works fine when i format it on a linux pc.

Are those CF cards that are being sold an actual Akai product, or has the seller just made up what looks like a factory Akai label and put it on some other brand CF card?

The first one I tried to format wasn't...the second one was(the one that eventually worked).I think I just wasn't giving it time to load,but once it formatted it was all good and Im now enjoying the hell out of this thing!!
