Unknown Volume Error

any sort of adapter in use with the ssd?

I was using an IDE to SATA adapter. If I recall correctly (it was a while ago) I bought a kit recommended by someone else on the forum.

My IDE drive 'water' tastes just fine thanks, I don't care whether the issue was the adapter, I've settled to use the technology the machine was designed to take. Why do you care so much that you posted the same question twice? I'd rather be a misguided donkey than a message board troll.

It's very little use saying, aha, that's why the drive failed, search it, but on reflection and taking the aha as eureka rather than haha and relating it back to my curiosity about WHY the drive had got messed up I can see the comment from another angle.

Fair enough, I take your point it wasn't meant to be rude. Sorry for jumping the gun but there's no need for the donkey comments though. Why add fuel to fire.

i have a straight IDE ssd that doesnt require an adapter and it works well in the mpc 4000. its about twice as expensive as an SATA drive that would require an adapter however. i started a thread with the details.
